Dominique GREGOIRE - DPO / Security Advisor (Forem) – Independent Trainer (BeyondThink)
Why are many DPOs discouraged? Why do they feel like they are constantly fighting, that others don't want to listen or understand? Why do they have few or no resources at their disposal, and why aren't they supported by management? These are all questions we will attempt to answer by providing some key insights to help avoid the most common pitfalls faced by DPOs when implementing GDPR compliance.
Paul-Emmanuel Bidault - DASTRA & Jeffrey Geenen-Ridolfi
The forthcoming implementation of the European Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) is likely to revolutionise the role of the Data Protection Officer. Traditionally faced with the governance of personal data, they will now have to find their place within the governance of artificial intelligence.
This session will provide an overview of what the AI Act means for a DPO, and how it is possible in practical terms to reconcile managing the RGPD and the AI Act. We welcome Jeffrey Geenen-Ridolfi, DPO of the city of Namur, to talk about this topic.
Prof. Dr. Jacques Folon - DPO PRO
The DPO is a new function and is often misunderstood. Although the RGPD requires the DPO to be informed ‘in good time’, i.e. as soon as possible, it is common for the DPO to learn about new projects at the coffee machine. What's more, the arrival of new regulations such as the IA ACT, the whistleblowers directive, the data privacy framework and NIS2 all add to the complexity of the DPO's role and the need for this profession to be certified.
Punit Bhatia - DPO & Director – Education Events - ISACA
We will discuss the what, why, and how of the EU AI regulation, as well as how to guide companies in preparing for this legislation.
